Irene Gianeselli attended at the "1st Conference of the ESREA Transformative and Emancipatory Adult Education Network" in Patras (Open Hellenic University, 5-7 July 2023) whit her presentation "Pasolini and his Manifesto Theatre: a new permanent poetic laboratory to transform society" .
About the experience
What an experience it was! Thanks to the Scientific and Organizing Committees of the 1st Conference of the ESREA Transformative and Emancipatory Adult Education (TEAE) Network School of Humanities at the Hellenic Open University that welcomed my research in Patras. I have a heart full of wonder: for the beauty, the intelligence and the open heart of the people I met.
In these days of study a research group was born and I am so honored to be part of it and so grateful for every single moment of this Conference! I will not give up listening and living this mutuality (key word, as Professor Aliki Nicolaides suggested in her speech!) for nothing in the world!
Every single encounter in these days has inspired me, how many "bridges over troubled water"! Unforgettable speeches by Professors Aliki Nicolaides, Loretta Fabbri, Danny Wildemeersch, Yabome Gilpin-Jackson. And then the kindness and listening, dedication and passion of Professors George Koulaouzides, Saskia Eschenbacher, Alessandra Romano, Dina Soeiro.
And how can I not say about the encounter with Professor Alexis Kokkos? Professor Alexis Kokkos remains and will remain forever in my heart. "Oh, the artful researcher, here you are! So mature and so strong, I'm proud of you" he told me after my presentation moving me to tears.
It was once said "Go to Patras" meaning a death. In these days in Patras the doubts that every research brings with it have died in me and a new awareness has been born. Now I know who I am: a young artful researcher, ready to continue, whit my whole dedication!
Last but not least thanks to my PhD School in Human Relations of the University of Bari Aldo Moro for allowing me to enjoy this transformative wonder!
